Bailey Streetscene supply a coordinated package of sheltered storage and street furniture elements to the all-new Manchester College campus.
Situated in the very heart of Manchester city centre, City Campus opened in the summer of 2022 offering state-of-the-art, industry-standard facilities that cater to Higher and Further Education needs on a single site.
The 18,500 sq m campus comprises a range of teaching spaces including two theatres, rehearsal spaces, dedicated music practice rooms, live rooms and recording studios, arts studios, shared workshop spaces, film and rehearsal studios, computing workshops, graphic design suites, and games design and computing rooms.
As well as the state-of-the-art amenities - the external area surrounding the contemporary building has been relandscaped to create an accessible and inviting space for students. Bailey Streetscene worked with the client to maximise the space available with a number of Inspira Planter System configurations. The bespoke design features tiered planter beds with integrated cantilever seating that seamlessly run up the steps - bringing welcoming patches of colour to the main entrance.
FGP litter bins and Stainless Steel Sheffield Cycle Stands are dotted around the building to offer secure bike parking and to keep the space clean and tidy. The litter bins have also been customised with black stained timber beams to coordinate with the building facade.
As final additions to the external space, 2 large Deacons Shelters provide bins storage and covered cycle parking for staff and students. The large shelters also feature bespoke black stained timbers to achieve a unified aesthetic with the street furniture and building.
