BSFG Supplies Jetty Shelter for Falkland Islands Cruise Visitors

BSFG recently fabricated a new public waiting shelter to the Falkland Islands, helping to expand capacity at the main jetty ahead of a busy cruise season. The new shelter was designed to match an existing structure, ensuring visual continuity while incorporating a reinforced design capable of withstanding the region’s harsh coastal conditions.
To ensure strength and durability, the shelter design underwent full structural calculations and incorporates galvanised steel with a high-quality powder-coated finish. Close coordination with RSK Falklands Islands’ Logistics and Shipping manager, Phil Riley was key to managing the complex logistics involved, including packaging for overseas shipment and detailed assembly planning.
Despite logistical challenges and environmental constraints, BSFG successfully designed and fabricated a robust, weather-resistant shelter that enhances the visitor experience at this remote but iconic destination. The project was completed for the Falkland Islands Government and managed through RSK Falklands Islands.
